Background

Christopher's Delight is a small tribute project, named in honor of a close friend, Christopher. He was the one who introduced me more deeply to organic cultivation and showed me that cannabis breeding is something to be shared with others, rather than kept to oneself. For years, we ran "Project Overgrow" together, hiding seedlings in parks, roundabouts, abandoned corners of the city, and even in places that probably would have landed us in jail. It was fun and left its mark.

He passed away a few years ago. Since he was always a big fan of autoflowers, this format seemed fitting to carry on his memory. I usually don't work with autoflowering strains, so this will probably remain a one-off project, but that doesn't mean it was hastily or carelessly put together. Time, passion, and care were invested.

Breeding Process

The base consists exclusively of Mephisto genetics, as I am most familiar with these lines.
The original starting point was Northern Cheese Haze crossed with El Chimi Kiwi. I received NCH x Kiwi as a freebie and crossed it with the opposite pair (Kiwi x NCH). This served primarily to increase seed count and maintain the expressiveness of the line while preserving variation.

Separately, I used Dead Lot, which is Chemdogging x Headbanger 505. Afterwards, I had another Headbanger 505 pollinate the Dead Lot plants. It was not a backcross. The Headbanger used in this step was a sister line to the original donor, so this can be considered an intercross within the Headbanger/Dead Lot range.

From the resulting intercross population, I backcrossed some plants and selected pollen from the plant that showed the strongest smell, greatest vitality, and best presence. I held onto this pollen until I found a particularly loud and well-structured NCH x Kiwi phenotype. This plant received the pollen. The final result is Christopher's Delight.

Cultivation Notes

The average run time from seed to harvest is approximately 10 weeks, but this can vary greatly depending on environmental conditions and stress.
I recommend topping between day 18 and 21. Ideally, top high, either at the highest node or the second highest node. This helps keep the canopy flat after the stretch phase. If not topped, it often forms a very tall main stem surrounded by a much lower outer ring. Some people like that. Personally, I prefer an even canopy.

Aroma and Expression

This strain tends towards the louder end of the spectrum. You can expect fairly intense profiles.
Common expressions include:
• funky, fermented fruit yogurt that was definitely left out too long
• pungent solvent notes, nail polish remover, chemical bite
• spicy, slightly cheesy umami funk

Occasionally, the true cheese phenotype appears, but less frequently. When it does, you'll know it immediately.

Christopher's Delight was created to honor someone who shaped the way I grow and share. If you cultivate it, share it generously and let it spread. That's what it was all about from the beginning.
